Our family has certainly enjoyed Edgehill over the years, but we are not the only ones.

Here is a great write up about a Edgehill wedding a few years back:

"The house is a beautiful, 200-year-old rambling farmhouse that it funky and amazing, with a big front porch and 8 bedrooms, and an attached barn complete with a stage and two rope swings.   And it's on 100 acres of land, with a mill pond and beach access.    It was absolutely the most perfect week - it could not have been more amazing.  Let's just say coffee on the front porch every morning usually turned into a three hour event.  And on Tuesday night, all I can say is 40 lobsters and 50 pounds of clam"

Here are some samples of guests' responses to Edgehill

  • "Mostly we felt the love left behind like other vacationers like us"

"This charming old house was a sacred vessel for the Philliips family Maine vacation for 1998. For the past two weeks we gave her another life of its own.

There were seventeen of us in total, some of us old, some of us barely beginning to live. Mostly we felt the love left behind like other vacationers like us. As we pack to leave we bid a fond farewell and a peaceful good night to those who follow.

  • "This was the perfect house to turn 50 in"

This was the perfect house to turn 50 in. Friends and family came from S.F., Amsterdam, Chicago, N.Y., more. We played as one. Lazy mornings, cold plunges in the Pond, drinking wine and storytelling to the light of fireflies and then a hundred people for dinner. Everyone was cozy and comfy. There were too many hugs to count. Edgehill was a grand dame with a gracious kitchen, warm fireplace and every bedroom full to snoring.

  • "Edgehill is timeless and wonderful"

Edgehill is timeless and wonderful. This great old house has reminded me over the past two summers of the simple pleasures a large house with such character affords-multi-generational visits, long walks, big breakfasts for 12 people, and street hockey in the barn...

  • "When our family of fifteen arrived here, we couldn't believe our good fortune"

When our family of fifteen arrived here, we couldn't believe our good fortune! Children and grown-ups alike scurried through the house, barn and grounds shouting, "Wait til you see this!". The wonderful old kitchen, awesome barn and "world's longest" hall upstairs drew the most comments. Soon an uncle was snoozing on his settee on the upstairs porch, 8-year-old cousins were shooting hoops and swinging to the barn rafters. Grandmother (me!) assigned bedrooms to ease the decision-making; no one was displeased as each has its own charm and comfort. Three little boys shared the screened sleeping porch and couldn't move their legs at night under the weight of the down comforter.

  • "This was a dream house for a professional cook to entertain family and friends"

This was a dream house for a professional cook to entertain family and friends. I was so excited to see the Garland stove and the well-appointed kitchen.  We had ALL our meals here.
